Composer Feature: Caroline Shaw

This week, we’re spotlighting one of the fantastic composers on our program, Caroline Shaw!

Caroline Shaw is one of the most in-demand composers of our time. She has written works for prominent ensembles such as the LA Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, and The Crossing. Her music also includes scores for television and film, with recent additions including A24’s film “The Sky is Everywhere” and FX/Hulu’s miniseries “Fleishman is in Trouble.”

An award winning composer, Shaw has received several Grammy awards, the 2013 Pulitzer Prize in Music, a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, and even an honorary from Yale.

Make it stand out

Our Juventas percussionist Tom Schmidt and cellist Timothy Paek performed Caroline Shaw’s duo, “Limestone and Felt” at a Neighborhood Series concert this past Fall.

Juventas is looking forward to performing Caroline Shaw’s piece, “Valencia,” at our upcoming Music in Bloom concert at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill on June 15th. Get your tickets at https://nebg.org/music-in-bloom/
