Composer Feature: Quinn Mason

This week, we feature award winning composer and conductor Quinn Mason!

A native of Dallas, Texas, Quinn Mason’s music has been praised as having “a mature voice for such a young composer” (Theater Jones). His orchestral works have been featured by over 170 major orchestras across the US and Europe, including performances by the National Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and the UK’s Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra to name a few.

His chamber and solo music has also received high acclaim, with performances by established ensembles such as Voices of Change and Midsummer’s Music, in addition to prominent artists like David Cooper of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and pianist Lara Downes.

Mason has appeared as a guest conductor nationally, leading numerous orchestras like the Hartford Symphony and National Symphony Orchestra, as well as multiple youth orchestras in cities across the US.

Mason has been widely recognized with awards from prestigious arts organizations. He has received honors from the American Composers Forum, National Flute Association, ASCAP, and many others. In recent news, Mason was awarded the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Award last month, recognizing his “remarkable talent, vision, and dedication to the craft” (ASCAP). Congratulations!
