Saskia Den Boon | Communications Coordinator
Originally from Wisconsin, Saskia is currently pursuing a dual degree in vocal performance and English at Boston University. She has a rich musical history as a vocalist, pianist, and aspiring composer. Saskia is the President of the acclaimed Boston University Treblemakers a cappella, where she builds the group’s connection to a network of clients and music production companies, and guides the group through competition season. In the past, Saskia apprenticed at Madison Opera under artistic director John DeMain, and has received such awards for her musicianship as the Becknell-Gilbert Choral Award and Superior Awards from the National Piano Federation. Saskia is also a talented writer, winning Boston University's Alice Brennan Humanities Award for her academic essays and serving as Editor-in-Chief and President of the social literary journal The Beacon. In her free time, Saskia enjoys writing her illustrated children’s novel, along with rowing, reading, and learning to speak Dutch. Saskia’s greatest motivator is her passion for storytelling. She believes that stories, told through musical or other means, can inspire empathy and compassion between people from all walks of life. |
