Patrick Walker | General Manager
Composer and Organist Patrick Walker’s work explores the boundaries of the emotional and expressive possibilities of traditional structures and harmonies, while embracing the many new musical resources and techniques available to the 21st century composer. He has recently received commissions from the American Guild of Organists' Boston Chapter, and the Juventas New Music Ensemble and his work has been performed in Canada, Russia, and across America by the Boston University Symphony, Juventas New Music Ensemble, Heinrich Christensen, Cygnus Trio and others. His music was awarded the BU Composition Department Prize for Performance with Orchestra in 2019 and the Jean Slater Edson prize for Composition from the Vassar College Music Department in 2015. Patrick recently received a Master of Music degree in Composition and Organ Performance from the Boston University College of Fine Arts where he studied with Richard Cornell and Peter Sykes. He graduated Vassar College in 2016 where he studied organ performance with Gail Archer, composition with Richard Wilson and Jonathan Chennette, and conducting with Eduardo Nevega. Patrick holds an AGO Colleague certification and currently serves as Director of Music Ministries at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie, NY.
