CELINE FERRO | CLARINET

Celine Ferro is a clarinetist whose work spans chamber music, orchestral performance, and creative collaboration. She is the core clarinetist of the Juventas New Music Ensemble, a force in the Boston based all-bass clarinet ensemble Improbable Beasts, and the clarinetist of the Kalliope Reed Quintet, where she can be heard on their latest album, Cañas sin Fronteras. Seeking diverse collaborations that take her work beyond the typical concert hall, Ferro is also the clarinetist and bass clarinetist of the groove ensemble Shibui, who recently headlined at the Boston Progressive Jazz Festival. Ferro has performed with other notable ensembles and organizations throughout New England including Vivo Performing Arts (formerly Celebrity Series of Boston), Castle of our Skins, the Cobb’s Hill Concert Series, and the Nightingale Vocal Ensemble. 

In addition to performing, Ferro is a dedicated educator who has private clarinet studios at Winchester Community Music School, Roger Williams University, Concord Academy, and Powers Music School where she also serves as department chair. When she’s not performing or teaching, she enjoys hiking, reading, and drinking good coffee.
