Juventas New Music Ensemble Announces
Out of Many, One
Our 2026-2027 Mainstage Season
April 21, 2025
Boston | Juventas is thrilled to announce its 2026–2027 Mainstage season, Out of Many, One. Each program celebrates the diverse voices that form the backbone of our nation, exploring themes of family, community, identity and, above all, the human experience. With 5 different venues across New England to choose from, this season offers 7 exciting programs, featuring the work of 50+ living composers.
The season opens with All We Are on September 26, October 10 and 11. Spanning generations and continents, composers Reena Esmail, Kian Ravaei, Oliver Caplan, and David Biedenbender ask what it means to endure, to hold multiple identities, and to cherish what is most fragile and fleeting. All We Are honors moments, both ordinary and remarkable, whose significance is often only understood in hindsight.
On January 23 and 24, Juventas will feature its celebrated percussionist, Thomas Schmidt, in a special solo concert curated by the artist himself. It centers on the complex beauty of the natural world and the pioneering scientists who have explored its wonders, from microscopic particles to voyages through outer space. On February 21, these meditations on nature are expanded with Trail of Stars, an ethereal combination of flute and harp that perfectly evokes the organic shapes of rivers, wildflowers, and shooting stars.
Highlighting the core of the season’s theme, the spring will feature two programs inspired by the rich diversity of our nation. Crossings (March 13) celebrates America’s history as a nation of immigrants, exploring ancestry, community, and the tenacity that defines our identity. This program features the work of Juventas’s most recent Call for Scores winner, Brian Shankar Adler, as well as the world premiere of Steven Sérpa’s Azorean Suite, a Juventas commission. Where We Gather (April 17 & 18) weaves together the unique perspectives of composers from coast to coast, meditating on the many different places that community and connection are found.
The season closes with two programs at New England Botanic Garden. A Moment of Light is an evening of music for violin and piano greeting the beauty and brightness of spring. Music in Bloom, which welcomed over 1,000 audience members last season, will return for its 7th year. Designed as a roving concert experience through the Garden, this event has become a beloved tradition.
Throughout the season, Juventas will continue its “Music for All” access programs, offering $1 tickets for anyone who can’t afford its regular prices for any reason; ticket donations to veterans and youth music programs, and free live-streams with CD quality audio and high definition feeds from five video cameras. In addition to the ticketed Mainstage series, Juventas also stages a free Neighborhood Series, with four informal programs in local venues around the Boston area; and performs at U.S. Naturalization Ceremonies.
Out of Many, One kicks off with All We Are on September 26 and October 10 & 11. Club Magenta subscription packages and single tickets are on sale now at juventasmusic.org.
